An Exploratory Approach to Consciousness – 1

The Universe is a sea of energy

Paul Dirac, in a new line of thinking, formulated the field concept of electron. In the new ‘quantum relativistic’ model of sub-atomic physics which is still the most successful, the primary concept is of ‘quantum field’, that is, of a field of energy which can take the form of quanta, or particles.

“There is no place in this new kind of physics both for field and matter, for the field is the only reality”, said Einstein.

Particles are mere temporary condensations of the energy field. Every sub-atomic particle is, in a sense, a field of force and the force of field increases as electron speeds on. An electron increases from 100 times to 1800 times its energy content, as it happens in accelerators.

Uncertainty Principle showed that the so called empty space teems with particles and anti-particles, whose content clash adds upto an infinite amount of energy.

According to Uncertainty Principle, no electron or matter (which is also a field) can measure zero. The so called empty field or space as a rule contains an enormous amount of waves.

Waves are also particles and particles generally have mass, which is energy according to Einstein’s equation e=mc2. The empty space emerged as an ocean of energy.

According to Stephen Hawking, the gravitational field at the event horizon of a black hole is strong enough to do an astounding thing – turning the virtual particles, even those unfortunate with negative energy to ‘real’ particles.  The universe emerged as an ocean of energy which the physicists call the ‘Dirac sea’ of energy.
